Bio

Malcolm Clark is an independent blues singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist originally from Washington State who now operates out of his high-desert studio in Arizona.

Malcolm Clark is a dedicated live-looping solo artist who utilizes modern looping technology to build full-band textures on stage by himself. Background & Musical StyleRoots: From 2000 to 2018, he spearheaded the Washington blues scene, fronting the Malcolm Clark Band and hosting prominent regional blues jams and open mics. The Arizona Move: He later relocated to Arizona, where he established a high-desert recording studio. He regularly performs solo looping blues sets across the state, such as his frequent residency dates at venues like The 4S Barn in Show Low, Arizona, Ray’s BBQ Shack in Concho, AZ.Genre: His original music and covers lean heavily into standard electric blues, jazzy/funky grooves, and soulful “schmoozy” blues tracks. He writes and records tracks straight from his Arizona cabin as well as recording live performances. He has completely shifted his live performance model from a traditional multi-piece band to a technology-driven solo looping act. He relies on hardware loopers to lay down rhythm sections, baseline grooves, and chord structures in real time, giving him the freedom to play expressive lead guitar and sing over a massive, self-generated sonic wall.
